Curriculum Information
Introduction:
This program will be divided into six units,
integrated with classroom’s units of inquiry. Vocabulary and sentence patterns
have been carefully selected to ensure the
content of each unit is relevant and
appropriate in order to extend the student learning in another language.
Students will learn language in a fun and positive
environment through
a variety of strategies like the use of flashcards, gestures, games,
songs or stories.
We emphasize on:
- Oral
language (Listening and speaking)
- Visual
language(Viewing and presenting)
- Written
language (Writing and Reading)
Objectives:
- Learn basic vocabulary
for everyday use.
- Learn basic vocabulary
related to Units of Inquiry
- Understand
and respond to simple short spoken texts
- Identify basic facts in simple written texts
- Communicate information in a limited
range of everyday situation
- Use words to make simple sentences
- Learn simple sentence
patterns and grammar structures
- Learn cultural aspects
of the countries of the target language
- Work cooperatively
with others in the class
